How GE Develops Leaders Globally through Online Learning
Tuesday October 25, from 2:45-3:45pm
Sara Ley, Crotonville Digital Learning and Technology Leader
Greg Bybee, VP Learning Experience, NovoEd
GE’s is renowned Crotonville for its leadership institute, Crotonville, which develops the company’s top leaders, and has earned GE the #1 world rank on Aon Hewitt Top Companies for Leaders. However, only 15% of GE employees attend a Crotonville classroom experience each year. To reach the rest of its 350,000+ employees, GE has launched a series of new online learning initiatives, with thousands of learners taking part each week. In this session, we’ll share details about GE’s BrilliantYOU, a new internal marketplace for learning resources. We’ll also discuss how GE’s pushes use of the envelope of what is taught online by using the NovoEd platform to train employees in high-stakes skills such as leadership, presence, creativity, and innovation.
During this session, you’ll learn:
- What GE’s BrilliantYou initiative is, including its purpose, goals, and some lessons learned
- A perspective on which aspects of leadership development training are most challenging to translate online
- How NovoEd-powered courses at GE enable engaging, effective learning of high-stakes skills.
We are also proud to announce that Aya Sakaguchi, Customer Success Manager at NovoEd, has been designated a Thirty Under Thirty winner in Learning at the conference.
